Sheffield Sport Commentaries were very sorry to learn of the passing of their treasurer Robert “Knobbie” Clark in August. Knobbie (as he liked to be called) originated from London and was a passionate Millwall supporter. He relocated to Sheffield over 40 years ago and started volunteering for the Charity which has provided free live sports commentaries to patients in the Sheffield hospitals and visually impaired supporters of the Blades, Owls and Eagles for 66 seasons to date.
Knobbie retired from commentating in 2001 but continued to serve as treasurer for the charity and worked as a courier until his unfortunate death. Knobbie will be remembered for his cheerful personality, his dedication to the charity and his unmistakable cockney accent. Our sympathy goes to his partner Dee and his children: Stephen, Laura and Zoe.
